The Hermosa Valley Greenbelt offers a cool and peaceful escape, just minutes from the beach. The Walnut Trail shares a wide corridor with an active railroad line along the BNSF route, in a stretch of Orange County known for the production of oranges and strawberries. The San Clemente Beach Trail is one of the area's most important rail routes, located along the Santa Ana River and the coast, just a few miles south of downtown Los Angeles.
M.U.S.D. is operated by the Montebello Community College District and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The short Upper Bay Trailarc leads through the Upper Newport Bay of Nature, from the town of Newport Beach on the west side of the Santa Monica Mountains to Newport Harbor in the east.

The Oso Creek Trail offers more than four kilometers of asphalt paths that connect the city of Montebello with the Santa Monica Mountains and the San Fernando Valley. Also in MonteBello is Monte Bello High School, a $30 million facility that opened in the fall of 2011 and is a vocational school for 750 students. The Monterey Park and Recreation Center, as well as other parks and recreational facilities in the area, offer a variety of experiences.

More recently, Randy Reas has continued to create space for the visual arts through "Keep the Culture Alive," a community organization created by the Montebello High School Music Department and other nonprofit organizations. The group has played concerts and parks, including MonteBello, and has also played concerts in Santa Monica, LA, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego, CA. We played in front of thousands of people and we always promoted Monte Bellos, "retired Monte Bellos High music teacher John DeBartolo said at a Santa Clara County Arts Council meeting on June 13.
